The City of Montpelier is currently working to repair a major water leak at the Elm St / Spring St intersection that resulted in dewatering and negative pressure in several areas of town. In accordance with the water supply rules, a precautionary boil water notice is required for all water system customers which will remain in effect until after the leak is repaired and we are able to collect nine water samples with passing results for coliform. It usually takes 24 hours to run the samples so we do not anticipate lifting the boil water notice until late afternoon tomorrow (Jan 30th) at the earliest.
