TRAFFIC ALERT - Shelburne Street Roundabout Traffic Alert

Nighttime closure of Shelburne Street between Ledge Road and Hoover Street in Burlington, VT

Burlington, VT – Starting TODAY, Sunday, April 10 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Shelburne Street will be reduced to one lane with one-way alternating traffic to prepare for the full closure of Shelburne Street between Ledge Road and Hoover Street. Starting TODAY, Sunday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. through Friday, April 15 at 6:00 a.m., Shelburne Street will be closed between Ledge Road and Hoover Street during the nighttime hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. to facilitate waterline work. Shelburne Street will be reopened to two lanes of traffic each day between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. throughout the week. Motorists will be directed to use the existing signed detour using Howard Street, Pine Street, and Flynn Avenue as shown in the detour graphic below. Residential access to Adams Court and Gove Court will be maintained. Flaggers will be present to assist residents through the closure area.

The waterline work includes the installation of waterline along Shelburne Street between Gove Court and Adams Court. This work will include excavation. Crews will work to minimize light and noise disruptions to the extent possible. The completion of this segment of waterline work will mark the completion of the waterline work for the project. Typical daytime construction activities will continue throughout the week.  For further information please see the project website!
