Water Quality Alert for 7/12/2021

As of noon today ALL public swimming areas in Burlington are closed due to Cyanobacteria. These include Blanchard Beach and the Cove at Oakledge, Leddy Beach, North Beach and Texaco Beach. Blooms have also been seen near the Boathouse and Perkins Pier areas.

We advise that people avoid contact with the affect area. Please keep children and pets out of the water. These blooms can be particularly harmful to pets, children and those with compromised immunity.

Burlington Waterfront staff will recheck the beaches tomorrow morning after 10:30am to test and confirm that the water is clear. We will post reopening notices on our web page, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
